    A re-design of the Spirit of Life Midwifery brand was completed May 2010. Part of the marketing strategy included a blog that features editorials from the founder, industry news, and women's health topics.

    In 2013, I modified the blog to use more modern web features. I reauthored it in HTML5 and designed a responsive layout.

    The branding stragtegy is focused on creating effective conversational based content and encouraging client engagement with social media marketing programs. When ever possible, all information posted on social media sites is written as lead-ins to follow the complete article or post on the Spirit of Life Midwifery blog hosted on the website.

    This successful, very well respected and beloved Florida licensed midwife has been assisting women in home birth and water birth for over 11 years. -

    Her existing website had outdated graphics, missing pages and a low visibility in search engines which made marketing and branding results equally inadequate. Her website simply did not portray her as the knowledgeable birthing expert that she is. Sheila related to us during our initial discussions that she was looking grow from practicing midwifery to a more instructional and advocacy role in midwifery. Her existing site was clearly not the vehicle for her ambitions with so few resources and incompleteness.

    Recent growth in the popularity of healthy life styles, healthy eating and trends in green living have opened the exploration of midwifery, homebirth and water birth up to a whole new group of women. This demographic group, tends to be between the ages of 20 to 37 (the prime childbearing years), well educated and active on the internet. In fact, they use the internet as their primary research tool.

    Sheila wanted to find a way to reach these other groups. She called it moving away from "preaching to the choir" to the next tier of families that are looking at the "natural" appeal of home and water birth. They may be researching options to traditional in-hospital birth. Her secondary objectives were improving the site's design and layout, as well as the site's functionality and navigation. She was also interested in creating an online community.
