What is the difference between POP and IMAP mail

POP and IMAP are different ways email programs can access your emails. POP stands for Post Office Protocol - sometimes referred to as POP3. IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. With POP emails are downloaded onto your PC (or Mac) or mobile device whenever you read them. With IMAP then the emails are left on the server when you read them.
